Halloween is next Friday!  You need to hurry up and get e-cards sent out to the people you hold dear.  Of course, the last time anyone got a card from you for the holidays it was probably Christmas.  But its OK, we understand and that is why we are here… You work a lot, your kids drive you bonkers, the mailman refused to come to your house, your hands didn’t work.

You don’t need an excuse with us. Just be sure to send a card or a free Halloween e-card this year to these 8 important people to show them that you still care, and that you aren’t a total jerk.

Mom
Mom loves you, and you know she thinks the world of you. Just because you are a parent, doesn’t mean you naturally know the answer or solution to everything.
There are many parents out there that don’t quite know what to do with their kids for Halloween, aside from the usual trick-or-treating. While that is still one of the many fun things to do with your kids, it is far from the only one, and so here we are once again with a few ideas of fun things to do with your children this Halloween.

Get Dressed Up
Your child doesn’t need to be the only one dressed up. Just because you are older, doesn’t mean you can’t partake in the same fun that your children are. Have you ever played their video games? If you have, you know where I am going with this one… Just because kids enjoy it, doesn’t mean you won’t.  Help your child get all dressed up in their costume of choice, and then get dressed up yourself. This will make the day more fun for the both of you!

Go Trick-Or-Treating Together
Don’t just let your child run loose on Halloween. Stay in costume and go with them! It’s a fun experience, and believe it or not, it lets you meet many of your neighbors and fellow parents in the area. It’s a great way to explore the neighborhood, as everyone is out of the house and running about having a great time. Most public schools have Halloween fairs every year. They are usually small fairs that take place at the school on the weekend, containing a few rides, some fun fair-themed games, as well as a haunted house. If your child is in their younger teenage years, then visiting a Haunted House attraction can always be a blast. Some of these places can be really scary, but they are completely harmless, and you will both laugh for hours about how loud you screamed or how high you jumped.

You may not know it, but there could be an actual haunted house in your area. There are hundreds of haunted homes scattered across the country that have become regular tourist attractions. Do a search on the internet for haunted houses in your area, and see if you can find any. Not only are these an adventure, but they are a small history experience as well, as each house has its own story to tell.

Go See A Movie
If your child is young, and you are afraid to let them experience Halloween just quite yet, then fear not, for there are still other fun activities that you can do with your child that will keep both of you entertained, allow you to spend time together, and keep their mind off of all the candy they are missing out on.
Take them to a movie, and then to get ice cream or pizza. Or, you could always rent a movie, order in some pizza, and share a tub of ice cream for dessert.

Halloween Games You Must Play

Halloween is a fun day, but for some of us, it’s a little more challenging thinking up things to do this Halloween.  Whether you are going to spend the night at home with family, or you are going to be at a Halloween party in the neighborhood with your children and friends, or maybe some of you will be looking for things to help keep the spirit of the night going.

We wanted to share a few fun and simple Halloween games for you to try, whether you need to entertain children, or just yourself and your friends this Halloween holiday.  The following are three of our favorite Halloween games to play:

Guess The Body Part
This is a simple, yet fun little game, which both kids and adults can have fun with.
Here’s what you do:

• Get 5 brown paper bags and 5 plastic bags
• Place one plastic bag within each paper bag
• Cut up 4-5 Bananas and then place the pieces inside one of the plastic bags. Mash them up. These are going to be “brains”
• Take a couple of large grapes or olives and peel the skin off and place these in a different bag. These are going to be “eyeballs”
• Take stick pretzels, making sure they are the large straight ones, and soak them in water for just a moment, then place them in a different plastic bag. These are going to be “bones”
• Cook up some spaghetti noodles until they are semi-soft, and then place them in a plastic bag. These are going to be “intestines” or “guts”
• Peel the skin off of oranges and place them on a sheet in the oven for a few minutes at 200 degrees. Pull them out when they are nearly dry and place them in a plastic bag. These are going to be “skin”
• Now, label each bag from 1 to 5.
• Each person will start at bag number one, and work their way down, trying to identify which body parts are inside each bag, without seeing down inside the bag or pulling the contents out. They will not be able to blurt their guesses out, and they can’t write them down until they have felt each bag.
• They then write their answers down, in order, and whoever guesses correctly wins a prize. This is especially fun for kids because it is creepy, and you can offer a bag of candy to the winner!

Costume Scavenger Hunt
This is a really fun game for adults to play on Halloween!

• What you need to do is split everyone up into groups. The amount of people in each group depends on the amount of people that are with you, but you should aim for 4 or 5 groups if possible.
• Make sure each group has a digital camera, or a cell phone that is capable of taking pictures.
• Then, write out a list of 10 or 15 Halloween costumes that are somewhat common.
• Now, all you need to do is give a copy of the list to each group, and they have to set out to take a picture of their entire group with a person that is wearing one of the costumes on the list.
• Not only is this challenging, but it is really fun having a group of people try to find others willing to take pictures with them!
• The first group to have a picture with every costume on the list wins!

Guess Who
This is a very simple, yet extremely fun game.

• Basically, you tell every guess beforehand to make sure they are in costume before they come to your party. Be sure to put an emphasis on covering the face and any distinctive features.
• Now, once all of the guests arrive, let them try to guess who each person is.
• This can be turned into a really great drinking game, as each time someone guesses wrong, they must take a shot.

Halloween parties are a great place to show off your creativity and imagination. Many night clubs and bars throw amazing Halloween parties and some even offer cash prizes for the best costume. Alright, so Halloween is on its way (Friday, October 31, 2008 to be exact), you want to have the best Halloween party imaginable, and you’re broke as heck. It happens. Not all of us can afford those fancy Halloween robotic zombies, actors resembling horror film characters, trap doors, mazes, and crazy special effects.

But it’s ok! There is plenty you can do to throw a Halloween party on a budget if you put your mind to it!  We will provide you with the best tips for throwing Hallowing Parties on a budget.

Adult Halloween Parties

1. Alcohol. No party is completely without plenty and plenty of alcohol. Check those little coupon advertisements the grocery stores send out. They usually have a sale on Halloween booze, especially as we get closer to the big goolish holiday.
2. Halloween decorations and Trinckets.  A great place to find good deals is wholesale places, such as Costco and Sam’s Club. Now, these places require a membership to shop, but ask your friends and family, as someone is bound to be a member. These are great places for buying in bulk (which you need to do if you want to have a real party!).
3. Halloween Music.  Because it’s Halloween, a lot of people find it necessary to play one of those “Halloween Sounds” CD’s… mmmmmm, not sure if that’s the best idea.  First of all, no one can dance to scary sounds. It just makes the entire party situation bland and uncomfortable.  So pull out some Michael Jackson and dance the night away with Thriller!  What ever you decide to go with make sure you play it loud!
4. Themes. Try to keep it simple but effective. A crazy haunted house theme would be a little too much for a party. People will be dancing, falling over, and throwing up on your fake monsters. No one wants to deal with that, and on top of everything else, it’s EXPENSIVE!
5. Setting. A few black lights scattered around the area people will be in, mixed with a strobe light or two, should about do it. Keep everyone in costume, including yourself, kill all the normal boring bright lights, crank the music up, and let the alcohol flow. This will make the party memorable and fun, and you will still be able to keep some cash in your pocket.
6. People.  Last but not least, you need people. I mean, how do you expect to throw a huge Halloween party without people? So, start of by simply telling everyone about it.
